Santa is Coming to Town
to Work in One of His Remote Workshops and you’re Invited to Visit!

Visitors will remain outdoors and peer through the windows of Santa’s Naperville workshop. Each family will enjoy a short, live conversation with Santa using special North Pole technology. Families should plan to take their own photos or videos to capture these special holiday moments as an event photographer will not be present.

4:30-8:30 pm
$10 for resident families / $15 for nonresident families
Santa’s Workshop is located at the Riverwalk Café
441 Aurora Avenue in Naperville along the Riverwalk

Advanced Registration Required

There will be no onsite registration or walk-ups available. When registering, families can choose one of the available 15-minute time slots. A limited number of families will be registered during each 15-minute segment; each family will have up to five minutes to spend visiting the workshop. One registration per family, please; individual family member names do not need to be registered.

  • Resident registration opens Mon., November 23 at noon
  • Nonresident registration opens Tues., November 24 at noon

As limited spots are available, families are encouraged to register early for this event.

Special Nights at Santa’s Naperville Workshop

    • To honor those who nobly and bravely serve our community and beyond.

Helpful Hints for a Magical Visit to Santa’s Workshop

  • A pre-Santa visit questionnaire will be emailed for registrants to complete prior to visiting. This questionnaire will assist Santa in preparing to welcome and converse with each family.
  • This unique Santa visit opportunity will be held outdoors. Dress for the weather!
  • Don’t forget your camera or video recorder to capture these special holiday moments with your family.
  • During the 15-minute pre-registered time slot, a limited number of socially-distanced families will pass through the patio located outside the workshop and peer through the windows to get a glimpse of the magical world of Santa and his workshop.
  • At the final window, each family will have the opportunity to speak with Santa using special North Pole technology.

On Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 Naperville Park District officials heard the good news for which they have been waiting for many months: the District has achieved national accreditation through the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA).

The decision was announced at the NRPA national conference in Atlanta following a formal hearing before the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA).

Naperville is only the second park district in Illinois to earn this distinction and the 104th nationally accredited agency in the nation; there are more than 10,000 recreation agencies in the United States. The Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies accredits a handful of park agencies each year that have completed a multi-step process involving a self-review by the agency, a site visit, and an evaluation and formal report by the Commission.

“We are extremely proud to bring this honor to Naperville,” said Park District Executive Director Ray McGury. “It’s an affirmation of our high standards and also an encouragement to continue bringing high quality recreation and parks experiences to our community.”

The Park District’s accreditation process began approximately one year ago and included an extensive self-evaluation by staff and a 5-day visit from CAPRA reviewers this past July. Maintaining the accreditation requires annual reports and 5- and 10-year reviews.

Park District staff members noted that the CAPRA process has helped them see the big picture, focus on long term goals and plans, review plans more regularly, organize documents so that they are accessible and useable, and collaborate more effectively with other departments and outside organizations.
