It's Owl Mating Season!

I've been hearing Great Horned Owls calling to each other here at Knoch Knolls Park and around my house.

  • Although many animals breed and nest in the spring, many owl species get a jump start on their mating season.

  • They even lay their eggs in the middle of winter!

  • Because when their owlets are ready to leave the nest it's springtime and there's an abundance of prey.
