**In an update provided to community stakeholders in fall 2009, it was identified that the Wildflower Park Trail Extension project would be delayed until spring 2010 due to the permit review timeframe of the City of Naperville and DuPage County.  After initial review and discussions, it was determined that portions of the proposed trail will be located in the regulatory floodway.  Additionally, there is a regulatory wetland, approximately 1'-2' wide, along the shoreline of the retention basin.  Impacts to both of these areas require permit approval.

As a result, Park District staff began the process of commissioning a consultant to assist the Park District with development of engineering drawings and other necessary documents required for the City of Naperville and DuPage County Stormwater Permit Application.  Due to the timeframe necessary to complete this process, the Wildflower Park Trail Extension project is now scheduled to be constructed in fall 2010 pending permit approval.
