The Alfred Rubin Riverwalk Community Center (ARRCC), located at 305 W. Jackson Avenue, will be undergoing exterior and parking lot renovations beginning July 16 - originally construction was going to begin on July 7. Building access and parking will be somewhat limited until the construction is completed, sometime in September.
On July 16, work will begin to renovate the parking lot on the north and west side of the building. Additionally, roof repairs also will be completed during the sale timeframe. Through mid-August, the parking lot, the building's north entrance and the west entrance will be closed. Patrons must enter the RCC using the south entrance. One-half of the parking lot will remain closed until sometime in September.
Four ADA parking spaces and six, 5-minute parking spaces will be available near the south entrance from 6:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. daily. Patrons have the option of using the parking lot at the Park District's main Administration Building at 320 W. Jackson Avenue. However, all are asked to use the crosswalks to safely walk from the Admin Building to the Riverwalk Community Center and vice versa.
Please note that construction schedules are subject to change. However, the construction expected to impact the area around the ARRCC is scheduled to last into the month of September.
