Rental Procedures & Requirements

The Naperville Park District has more than 136 parks throughout the city. Six community parks (Riverwalk, Knoch Knolls, Seager, DuPage River , Burlington and Country Lakes Park) which may be reserved for large-group gatherings. Neighborhood parks may be reserved by their respective neighborhood residents only. The Naperville Park District has rooms or buildings that can be rented for parties, meetings, or special events.

In order to rent a park or facility, you must be 21 or older. Permits are required if an organization or individual wants to reserve the use of a certain park or facility for a specific date and time, or plans to engage in special-use activities, such as serving alcohol, pitching tents, or bringing in or erecting temporary structures. Temporary structures are NOT allowed in our buildings. Rentable parks only.

Applications are available at the park district administration building, 320 W. Jackson Avenue. Applicants will be required to produce:
. Proof of Residency
. A completed rental application, which must include the responsible party's full name and date of birth
. A $100 damage deposit
. Full payment of the rental fee is due at the time of booking
. The responsible party- applicant- MUST be in attendance during the event.

When to apply for building-use permits

 

Residents and organizations within Naperville Park District boundaries may apply for a permit no sooner than 90 days before the event.

 

How often can you rent a building?

 

Buildings can be rented 90 days in advance by any one group. Building-rental dates may be scheduled as long as reservations are not made more than three weeks before the desired rental date.

 

No permits will be issued on or during Naperville Park District annual maintenance periods, construction periods, and legal holidays that the Park District is closed.

Park Police Security Rates
Renters can hire Naperville Park District police officers as security guards when alcohol will be served, or when an event has more that 250 guests. The rate is $35.00/hr, and can be arranged by calling (630) 848-5000.

 

Rain Date Reservation

Rate Rain dates for special events may not be scheduled until an event has been rained-out; however, you may call (630) 848-5000 within 72 hours of the event to check next-day availability.. Special event rain-date fees are non-refundable. Rain dates may not be reserved for athletic field rentals.

 

Insurance/Security
Special insurance and a park district permit are required and additional security may be required for special events that include any of the following*: . Consumption of alcoholic beverages
. Groups over 250
. Leagues
. Non-routine or high-risk activities such as inflatables.
. Use of equipment or activities that may cause injury

 

Groups or individuals providing insurance are required to:
. Submit a certificate of insurance to the Naperville Park District no later than 21 days before the event
. Name the Naperville Park District as an additional insured
. Specify the date, park/facility, and nature of the event on the insurance certificate
. State on the insurance certificate that host liquor liability is part of coverage (if alcoholic beverages will be served)
. Obtain $1 million minimum general liability coverage (combined single limit)

Renters may obtain host liquor liability insurance and special event insurance through a third party insurance program administrated by the NPD or the group may obtain their own insurance as long as all requirements are satisfied.

Refund Policy
Cancellations made more than 21 days prior to the event will receive a full refund, less a $25 cancellation fee. Refunds will not be issued for cancellations made less than three weeks prior to the scheduled event. The park district is not responsible for weather conditions. Naperville Park District issues no refunds for weather conditions.
