Volunteers to joined in on a special project on Friday, Sept. 28 to help enhance the wild songbird habitat at DuPage River Park.
DuPage River Park, located at 808 Royce Road, just east of Naper Boulevard, is home to approximately 272 acres of open space, with prairie and wetland habitats. Scotts Songbird Selections is providing a $5,000 grant to the Naperville Park District to purchase hawthorn trees, crabapple trees and prairie plants that will attract songbirds and add to their natural habitat. Additionally, employees from Scotts and Ace Hardware joined other volunteers to help with the planting.
“We are excited about this opportunity to partner with Scotts, Ace Hardware and local volunteers to enhance our environment and protect wildlife,” said Sponsorship and Events Manager Brett Lindahl.
