Springbrook and Naperbrook Golf Courses Open Feb. 17

Springbrook and Naperbrook Golf Courses will open for play on Friday, Feb. 17, thanks to the unusually warm weather predicted for the next week.

The courses will remain open, weather permitting, but will be for walking only, until course conditions allow carts later in the spring. The driving ranges also will be open for use from the mats only. Due to construction, the concession areas will be closed at both courses.

“We’re happy to be able to open the courses early this year, and invite golfers to take advantage of the spring-like weather,” said Kevin Carlson, superintendent of golf operations. “Some of our winter projects are still in progress, including improvements to concessions and dining areas.  We appreciate our customers’ patience as these projects continue.”

Springbrook and Naperbrook Golf Courses are now taking registrations for the popular PGA  Junior League Golf teams. A limited number of spots are available for boys and girls ages 9-13 to participate on a team beginning in May and continuing through June. The PGA Junior League features a scramble format for matches and opportunities for teamwork, professional instruction and coaching. To register, call Todd Russell at 630-848-5060 for the Springbrook team or Tim Dunn at 630-378-4215 for the Naperbrook team.

Brooks Golf Academy Training Center is open for golf instruction and fitness training to prepare golfers for a successful 2017 season.  Fitness training includes group as well as private instruction.

The first tournament of the 2017 season is thePartner Best Ball Challenge, held at Naperbrook Golf Course on April 15. For a full 2017 tournament schedule, visit www.golfnaperville.org

Springbrook Golf Course will host a grand reopening celebration of its newly expanded practice area and renovated range on May 26. This project began in August 2016 and will be completed when the new turf grows in this spring.
