Park District to Offer Holiday Volunteer Training Webinar on Nov. 8

To help volunteers prepare to serve at popular Naperville Park District holiday events such as Santa House, presented by Woody Buick GMC, the Park District is holding its fourth annual holiday volunteer training webinar on Wed., Nov. 8 from 7:00-8:00 p.m.

“This brief training is required for all volunteers for Santa House and other holiday events,” said Park District Volunteer Manager Lynnette Hoole.  “The webinar format makes it easy for busy volunteers to complete the training at home,” added Hoole.

Volunteers are needed for Santa House, which runs from Dec. 1-23 and for several other events, including Magical Ice Cream Social on Nov. 10, Skating with Santa, on Dec. 2 and Donuts with Santa on Dec. 9.  Prospective volunteers may sign up for these events after they have completed the online training.

The training webinar will provide details about each of the holiday volunteer opportunities, how to complete the volunteer forms, what to expect, how to engage with guests, and information about other volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Volunteers who complete the training will receive 1 hour of volunteer service.

“We welcome parents, club members and leaders in the community to participate in the online training as well,” said Hoole.

To request the webinar invitation, contact Lynnette Hoole at lhoole@napervilleparks.org.
