Residents invited to help select equipment for 2013 playgrounds

Open house meetings planned for Dec. 11 and 12

With six playground projects planned for next year, the Naperville Park District invites residents to help select equipment for playground improvements in their area.

There will be two meetings, with three playgrounds to be considered at each meeting.

The open house for playground renovations at Crestview Knoll and River Run Park and for the new playground at Ashwood Park will take place on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the second floor lobby of the Park District’s 95th Street Center, located at 2244 W. 95th Street.

The open house for playground renovations at Country Commons, Huntington Commons and Olesen Farm Park will take place on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Park District’s Planning Office at 425 W. Jackson Avenue.

Parents are encouraged to bring their children and may come at any time during the given time period.  There will not be a formal presentation.

“The best playground designs are based on community input” commented Director of Planning Eric Shutes. “Each playground design offers several variations, including color, types of slides, and layout of equipment. Parents and children who will use the playground can help make these choices,” he said.
