Halloween events for kids & adults

Throughout the month of October, Naperville area residents can join in a variety of Halloween-themed activities offered by the Naperville Park District.

Halloween Hayrides
Halloween Hayrides provide an opportunity for kids and even parents to dress up in their favorite Halloween costume and enjoy a hayride along the wooded trails at Seager Park or Knoch Knolls Park. The registration fee includes hot chocolate and apple cider for all participants and Halloween treat bags for children ages 1-12. The Knoch Knolls hayrides are available on Oct. 21 and 27 and the Seager Park hayrides are offered on Oct. 20. Learn more

Scare-illon Concert
The Scare-illon concert will feature both classical and popular music with spooky and atmospheric themes. Special guests this year include Élan Dance Company dancers, who will dance to the live Carillon music.  Élan Dance Company also will perform at Naper Settlement’s All Hallows Eve on October 19 and 20 during the evening’s events.  Élan Dance Company is a program of the Naperville Park District and is partially supported by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.  The Scare-illon concert, scheduled from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, will include a live video feed from the playing cabin to a large monitor on the plaza in front of the tower. As always, the concerts are free and open to the public. The Naperville Park District will provide Halloween treats for the audience. The Carillon is located at the base of Rotary Hill at 443 W. Halloween Happening
A Naperville Park District tradition for over 30 years, Halloween Happening will take place at the Grand Pavilion at the Riverwalk from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28. This free event is designed to delight children ages 10 and under, with four themed areas, where they can collect treats, play games, and win prizes.

Pumpkin Decorating and S'Mores
The whole family is invited to enjoy some Halloween Fun decorating pumpkins on October 27! Each child ages 2-8 receives a pumpkin and everything needed to create a Halloween masterpiece.
