2018 Capital Projects Open House

An open house was held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Naperville Municipal Center lobby, 400 S Eagle Street, kicking off the outreach process for 2018 Capital Projects.

The community input received will be taken into consideration as the projects are designed.

Below are the parks with projects planned for 2018:

Brook Crossings – 1015 95th Street
Parking lot and sidewalk renovation

Clow Creek Greenway – 4588 Pradel Drive
Shoreline renovation

DuPage River Sports Complex – 2807 S Washington Street
Ballfield sports lighting renovation

Frontier Sports Complex – 3415 Book Road
Ballfield renovation, new pathways, trail renovation, athletic field renovation, irrigation renovation, parking lot renovation

Riverwalk Park – 736 Sindt Court
Warming Shelter Restroom Renovation

Playground Renovations
During this initial outreach period, please share features that you like or dislike about your current playground. The Park District will provide all comments to the play equipment manufacturers for consideration in 2018 designs.  If you would like to be involved in selecting the new play equipment, you will have an opportunity to attend a public meeting this winter. On average, 5-8 manufacturers provide a design option for review. The new play equipment and site amenities will be proposed in the same general footprint. Proposed amenities include new benches, picnic tables, and a permanent shade shelter. Construction will be completed in approximately 8 weeks, between April and October. A start date is to be determined.

*The Kingsley Elementary Schoo playground renovation will be administered by Naperville Community Unit School District 203 staff. The project is part of a cost-share agreement with the Naperville Park District. Feedback related to the current playground will be forwarded to the school district for consideration in the 2018 design. Construction is scheduled to be completed over the 2018 summer season.
