As the Park Police Chief for the Naperville Park District, Carl Schnibben oversees a staff of approximately 20 part-time sworn police officers and the Park Service Officers Corps. The Naperville Park Police patrol the parks year round, focusing on the busy spring, summer, and fall months with the mission of keeping our patrons safe. Park Police also provide event security and maintain communications with the City of Naperville Police to enhance the community’s ability to respond in an emergency.
Carl joined the Naperville Park District staff in 2006 with 37 years of experience in local law enforcement. During his 30 years with the Woodridge Police Department, he served as the Deputy Chief of the Investigations Division and the Patrol Division. After retiring from his position at Woodridge, he assisted the Westmont Police Department in a civilian capacity, overseeing Evidence Control and Crime Prevention.
Carl’s experience includes acting as Deputy Coordinator and Coordinator of the Felony Investigations Assistance Team (FIAT) from 1997 to 2003. This organization is comprised of fifteen law enforcement agencies to address cases that exceed the capacity of most police departments.
