Help Save Funding for Illinois Parks and Open Space

Problem:
Governor Blagojevich has cut $14 million from the budget of the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), which may force massive layoffs and closing of state parks. IDNR is the agency that has provided over $4 million in state grants to enable the Naperville Park District to purchase park land and develop park facilities including athletic fields, trails, and playgrounds.

Solution:
The legislature can vote to override Governor Blagojevich's budget cuts and restore IDNR's funding.

Action Needed:
Contact your State legislators and ask them to override the Governor's IDNR budget cuts and restore full funding for IDNR.
