Andrew Schaffner
Born at Edward Hospital in Naperville, Schaffner grew up out-of-state, but often visited his hometown for holidays and summer vacations. Once he completed his Master’s degree, Schaffner returned to Naperville to start his own independent trading business, which he has successfully run for the last 13 years.
Upon his return to Naperville, Schaffner was motivated to get involved in the community because of the obligation to volunteer that was instilled in him as an Eagle Scout. Schaffner was particularly drawn to the opportunity to apply his talents at the Park District because he believes the organization has an extremely important role in the community. By providing recreational facilities and programs, the Park District not only improves the quality of life of Naperville’s residents, but it also helps to attract new residents and businesses to the community.
Over the years, Schaffner has offered his time as a volunteer at Ribfest, the Last Fling, the Great American Yard Sale, and at local sporting events. He is glad to do so because of the sense of loyalty that he feels towards his hometown.
