Kirsten Young
Kirsten Young, a Naperville resident since 1999, was elected to the Park Board in 2009. Kirsten is an attorney and is Director of Regional Sales for Integrys Energy Services, Inc. with over 20 years of experience in the field of energy and commodities. She and her family decided to make their home in Naperville because of the outstanding combination of top tier public schools, fantastic parks, safe neighborhoods and a thriving local business community.
Kirsten joined the Park Board with the desire to preserve the Park District's role in enhancing the quality of life in Naperville and to maintain its focus on the community as a whole. She believes that the Park District is extremely important to the community. The District's parks and programs help prevent childhood obesity, develop leadership and athletic skill in our youth and teach artistic skills. The Park District also provides a place for people of all ages to interact, whether participating at the Garden Plots, playing on community sports fields, or enjoying local natural areas. Equally important is the District's role in sustaining the environment and inspiring people to preserve and protect our natural resources.
Kirsten's passion is to see young people positively involved with their community, and believes that the Park District can inspire youth and adults to create and enjoy a healthier lifestyle and environment for Naperville and beyond.
