Nike Sports Complex update
We would like to thank everyone who attended the Jan. 30 meeting during which a concept plan for Nike Sports Complex was unveiled. Overall, the feedback was very positive.
As you may recall, the additional 20 acres of land located adjacent to the existing Nike site was purchased by the Park District in 2007. The concept is based on resident feedback received during the acquisition process as well as recommendations in our draft Open Space and Recreation Master Plan. The plan includes lighted multi-use turf fields, synthetic turf field, tennis courts, basketball courts, playground, trails, a park support building, and a cricket pitch. Please keep looking for updates on our website as we move forward with Nike's development.
